The animation process is broken down into the below steps. We've tried to keep it fairly high-level to avoid all the confusing details. If there's a question about something not covered here, please call 970-229-1462 and ask in person. We'd welcome a chance to talk with you directly.

1. Listen to the Need:
Many projects begin with a basic need. A communication need, a marketing need, an educational need, or any other basic underlying reason a client needs an animation.

2. Determine the ideal length of the piece:
If it's a 15-second commercial, a 60-second visual explanation, a 10 minute training demo, or a longer piece. Time is important from a production standpoint (rendering), but prior to that, in creating the story board, and moving your story along at the appropriate clip.

3. What format does the client envision:
Once a video project is assembled and rendered at a higher resolution, you can take the same piece and compress the file size and frame size for delivery over the web, on CD/DVD, etc.

4. Story board:
A story board is simple a series of images with text associated with each frame describing what happens before, during and after the frame. It helps determine how much time it will take to communicate effectively through simple reading and timing exercises.

5. Animatics:
With the story board done we move to pacing the story over time. This provides a sense of how long a scene needs to last to successfully communicate the message. This can be done with a series of still images held on screen for a period of time through a rough voice track or measured to the tempo of desired music. Or, silent if no further decisions have been made. Animatics can then be used in generating voice and music.

6. Voice and Music:
We'll help determine and pick the appropriate voice talent based on the look and feel you're after. The right voice ads a tremendous touch to the work. Music is key, as well. We'll work with you to help pick the proper existing tracks, or compose new music specifically for your work.

7. Keyframing & Animating:
We'll animate your scene based on story boards, animatics, music, voice and start to put the whole process together so you can begin to "see" the piece come together.

8. Rendering:
We'll render the frames in multiple passes for complete control in compositing.

9. Compositing:
We'll composite the frames with live action footage in some cases, and polish up the final piece.

10: Tweaking and adjustments:
We'll make any final adjustments and changes to keep the overall effect on target.

11. Delivery:
We'll supply the popcorn.
