3 cameras were set up around 1 model to match low-res FPO (For Position Only) comps supplied by the client. The same lighting set up is used in all three shots, though lighting could easily be altered per shot. To get this flexibility any other way would cost much more than the 3D rendering process.

Scene composition is an important part of the 3D process. 3D rendering has the power to show your product from different angles by moving the camera in any direction-especially directions that would be virtually impossible with a conventional camera-and rendering your scene with exactly the compostion you desire.

Fine-tuning and tweaking are encouraged during this process. Attempts to match a specific layout are not attempts-they are easily accomplished by superimposing the layout in the background and matching camera angles and precise compostional targets before rendering begins.

The 3D artist has complete control over this process through:

  1. Scaling various objects in the scene to accurately or artifically enhance the desired effects.
  2. Total light manipulation through selectively choosing which lights affect which objects; the ability to disable a light's affect on any given object has enormous power.
  3. Easily positioning the camera in the immediate 360° universe of an object exposing views not otherwise possible or easily accomplished with conventional photography;
  4. Precise camera matching across various different product shots and prolonged time-frames. For example, if an object is shot one year, and changes are made the following year, the object can be re-shot in precisely the same position under precisely the same conditions if necessary. This eliminates setup time, lighting time, etc. and allows a quick repeat with any modifications desired over extended periods of time.
  5. Multiple renderings from one setup.

As well as cost-effectiveness, total flexibility and control are the real advantages of this process. Because the model is built and textured accurately, 360° renderings from anywhere arond the model are possible, truly emulating a photographic approach with the additional benefits mentioned above.

And if your model isn't quite finished, or has some rough spots in it, we can smooth things out here. We can re-build components from scratch allowing you to move forward with your marketing efforts without waiting for the engineers to finalize CAD files.
